American DJ and record producer Thomas Wesley Pentz, also popularly known as Diplo is all set to bring his Mad Decent Block Party to the country’s capital this February. After a successful concert in Islamabad two years ago, where he played a show alongside Elliphant and local Pakistani musicians, Adil Omar and Talal Qureshi (SNKM), Diplo reveals to fans on Twitter that Block Party will be making its debut in Pakistan.
This year, the Grammy winner Diplo will be accompanied by members of Major Lazer Soundsystem, American- based DJ and producer Valentino Khan, Adil Omar and Talal Qureshi (SNKM), American based DJ Chrome Sparks, Lyari Underground (L.U.G), Shamoon Ismail and more local artists for the biggest night of electronic dance music in Pakistan’s history.
Moreover, Major Lazer announced on Twitter that a part of the proceeds will go to Sahil, a non-profit organisation that works for children’s rights. The trio’s tweet states the contribution will go in the name of Zainab Ansari, the eight-year-old whose tragic rape and murder case shook the country last week and even made news in the global community.
Diplo, one of the most dynamic forces in music today, has worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna, Shakira, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Usher and Chris Brown among many others in the global entertainment industry.
Adil Omar announced on Twitter that he will be releasing his self-produced solo debut album ‘Transcendence’ in 2018.
Talal Qureshi was also recently in studio with Naseebo Lal and Younis Jani for an upcoming solo project with Patari and Red Bull.
Fans can expect dates for the concert to be announced very soon.
