The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton,will arrive in Pakistan on October 14, the first official visit by a member of the royal family since 2006.
They will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi on October 15. The Royal couple will cover more than 620 miles over five days, taking in the ‘modern, leafy capital Islamabad, the vibrant city of Lahore, the mountainous countryside in the north and the rugged border regions to the west’, said their spokesman.
The itinerary will ‘pay respect to the historical relationship between Britain and Pakistan’, it will focus on showcasing the country ‘as it is today – a dynamic, aspirational and forward-looking nation’.
During their visit, the royal couple will also interact with organisations ‘which empower young people and ensure they have the best possible start in life’.
