Bollywood superstar Sridevi passed away due to accidental drowning in a bathtub in her hotel room in Dubai, according to forensic reports. She was staying at the the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel.
According to reports, traces of alcohol were found in her blood too. The forensic report released by Dubai Police said that the medical examination of Sridevi’s body revealed that she had taken alcohol before her death on the night of February 24.
Following the completion of post-mortem analysis, @DubaiPoliceHQ today stated that the death of Indian actress Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following loss of consciousness.

The actress’s last rites were scheduled to take place in Mumbai afternoon but it has been delayed for now. Meanwhile, the Dubai Police has transferred Sridevi death case to Dubai Public Prosecution which will “carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases”.
The 54-year-old was there with her husband Boney Kapoor to attend nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding ceremony. While most of the extended family as well as Boney and younger daughter Khushi had returned, Sridevi decided to stay back to visit an art auction. Her elder daughter, Jahnvi, was inMumbai to complete a shooting schedule for her debut film Dhadak.
The body of the late actor, who garnered superstar status in the 1980s and 1990s in what was a hugely male dominated industry, is expected to reach Mumbai late today after authorities in Dubai conclude all the formalities.
