5 Tips To Live a Healthier Life

There’s no real secret to a healthy life – the simplest and littlest things are often the best. If you want to feel good all year round try these quick and easy to follow tips:

1. Drink more water:

Most of us don’t drink enough water on a daily basis. Water is essential for our body to function; it is needed to carry out our body functions, remove waste and carry nutrients and oxygen around our body. It helps in keeping the mind alert and aids in detoxifying the body. Therefore, we need to replenish our water intake.

2. Get enough sleep:

When we don’t rest well, we often compensate it by eating more and it’s usually junk food. Get enough rest and it will help you from binge eating to stay awake. Additionally, lack of sleep causes premature aging, and we surely don’t want that.

3. Exercise:

Research proves that exercising daily brings tremendous benefits to our health, including increase of life span, lowering the risk of diseases, higher bone density and weight loss. Increase, the amount of movement and activity in your life. Choose walking over transport for closer distances, or climb the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Join a workout class that you enjoy, take up a sport of your liking.

4. Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet:

Fruits and vegetables are important for our well being. Fruits are a plethora of vitamins and minerals – oranges offer more health benefits than vitamin C itself. And, taking in synthetic supplements are not the same as consuming the foods direct from nature. Fill your palate with these nutritious fruits: Watermelon, Apricots, Avocado, Apple, Cantaloupe, Grapefruit, Kiwi, Guava, Papaya, Strawberries.

5. Practice random acts of kindness:

Practicing random acts of kindness work well for givers and receivers alike. A quick call to an old friend, or helping an old person cross the road can make someone’s day along with yours. Try to practice a random act of kindness without any expectations daily.
